GOL announces the return of operations to the US

THE GOAL announced that it will resume flights from Brasília to the state of Florida, in the United States. Starting next month, the company will fly again between the federal capital and the airports of Miami (MIA) and Orlando (MCO).

GOL Boeing 737 MAX-8

On the 13/05th, GOL will resume its operations on the Brasília and Miami route, on the 17/05th it will be the turn of Orlando to receive the company’s flights departing from the Brazilian capital. The two Florida cities are giants in tourism and business travel, as well as being home to thousands of Brazilians.

“Orlando and Miami are at the top of the international destinations most appreciated by Brazilians, and it is with great expectation that GOL resumes flights to the United States. With GOL’s strategic partnership with American Airlines, we offer customers the best connectivity from the hub in Miami and the city of Orlando, with 28 additional destinations in the US.”emphasizes Randall Saenz Aguero, director of Alliances, International and Distribution at GOL.

GOL flights to the USA

Through GOL, both destinations will receive four round trips per week from Brasília in May. Flights to Orlando take off at 9:50 am from the federal capital and land in Florida at 5:10 pm, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the same days as the return, which takes place at 10:10 pm, with landing at 7:10 am in Brazil:

For Miami, departure takes place at 10 am and arrival in the American city at 5:05 pm, always on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The return, on the same days of the week, is at 21:30, with landing at 6:20 in Brasília:

Both routes will be operated with the most modern aircraft in GOL’s fleet, the Boeing 737 MAX, which, in an international configuration, has a capacity for 176 passengers.

GOL’s operations in the United States

Traditionally, direct flights to the US depart from airports in the Southeast. The decentralization provided by GOL saves time for passengers in the Midwest, North and Northeast regions, since the connection in Brasília is more convenient.

“Goiânia (GYN), Belém (BEL), Manaus (MAO), Recife (REC), Salvador (SSA), Belo Horizonte (CNF) and Fortaleza (FOR) are among the cities favored by boarding in Brasília to the United States , given the privileged geography of the federal capital in a central location in Brazil. In the case of the capitals of the North and Northeast, for example, counting the round trip to Miami with GOL, about 8 hours are saved in the sum of all the journeys, compared to the trip of a passenger departing from these locations, passes through airports in the Southeast and heads to the USA”says Bruno Balan, Strategic Planning Manager for the Air Network at GOL.

Also noteworthy are the airports of Congonhas (CGH), in São Paulo, and Santos Dumont (SDU), in Rio de Janeiro, as starting points of the trip. These airports are easily accessible due to their central location in the cities in which they are located and have an expressive offer of flights from GOL to Brasília, allowing quick connections to the USA.

As these are daytime flights (departing for Orlando at 9:50 am and for Miami at 10:00 am), passengers from several GOL bases in the country can benefit from an international flight completed in a single day, counting from the point of origin. That is, with enough time for the international connection in Brasilia. The schedules even favor the check-in process at hotels, as the company lands in both American cities around 5 pm.

GOL has been operating the route between Brasília and Florida cities since 2018, but had to suspend flights due to the pandemic. Tickets can now be purchased on the company’s website and app, at Smiles, at GOL stores at airports, by calling the Relationship Center (0300 115 2121) and travel agencies.
